Description

A knot designed for joining lines of very different diameters, such as leader to fly line or braid to mono. The larger line is folded into a loop and the smaller line is wrapped around it.

Common Uses

Joining fly line to leader, or braided line to monofilament leader.

How to Tie

  1. 1Form a loop in the thicker line.
  2. 2Pass the thinner line through the loop and wrap it around the loop 8-10 times.
  3. 3Pass the tag end of the thinner line back through the loop from the same side as the first pass.
  4. 4Moisten and pull both standing ends until tight. Trim the tag end.
