Crossing Hitch

Description
A hitch used to secure rope to a rope or to create a friction point. The working end wraps around the crossing point and tucks under itself, creating a locking structure.
Common Uses
Creating a secure crossing point between two ropes or between a rope and a spar.
How to Tie
- 1Lay the crossing rope across the main rope or spar.
- 2Wrap the working end around the crossing point.
- 3Pass the working end under the wrap and pull tight.
- 4Repeat in the opposite direction for additional security.
