Description
The round timber hitch is an enhanced version of the timber hitch that includes an additional wrap completely around the log before the tucking step. This extra wrap provides increased gripping surface and security. It is self-tightening under load.
Common Uses
Used in logging and construction for dragging or hoisting logs, poles, and cylindrical objects where extra grip is needed.
How to Tie
- 1Pass the working end completely around the log.
- 2Wrap the working end around the standing part twice.
- 3Make a final full wrap around the log with the working end.
- 4Tuck the working end under the last wrap.
- 5Pull the standing end to tighten and test the grip.
