Noose
Also known as:Slip Knot

Description
The noose is a simple sliding loop that tightens when pulled on the standing end. It is one of the oldest knot designs and consists of a simple knot tied around the rope's own standing part. The loop constricts around whatever is placed inside it.
Common Uses
Used in temporary fastening, packaging, and as a starting point for many other knots. Not recommended for life-safety or load-bearing applications.
How to Tie
- 1Form a small loop near the end of the rope.
- 2Pass the working end through the loop.
- 3Wrap the working end around the standing part and back through the loop.
- 4Pull the standing end to slide the knot and tighten the main loop.
- 5Adjust the loop size as needed.
