Spanish Bowline
Also known as:Spanish Double Loop

Description
The Spanish bowline creates two fixed loops side by side that share a common knot body, similar to the Portuguese bowline but tied differently. It starts by twisting a bight into a figure-eight-like shape. The loops are non-slip and can be loaded independently.
Common Uses
Commonly used in rescue for creating a two-loop harness to hoist a person, or in sailing for rigging applications requiring twin fixed loops.
How to Tie
- 1Form a large bight and twist it to create two crossed loops.
- 2Bring the top loop down and the bottom loop up to interlock them.
- 3Pass each side of the bight through the respective loops.
- 4Pull outward to form two separate loops.
- 5Adjust both loops to equal size and tighten the knot.
- 6Dress carefully to ensure the structure is symmetrical.
