Trucker's Hitch

Description
A compound knot that creates a mechanical advantage (2:1) for tensioning a line. Uses a loop in the standing part and two half hitches to secure the load. Essential for securing cargo.

Securing loads on trucks, trailers, and roof racks; tensioning tarps and guy lines; camping and general utility.
How to Tie
- 1Tie a loop in the standing part of the rope (using an Alpine Butterfly or overhand loop).
- 2Pass the working end around the anchor point (hook, rail) and back through the loop.
- 3Pull the working end to tension the rope (the loop acts as a pulley).
- 4Secure the working end with two half hitches around the standing part.
