Water Knot
Also known as:Ring Bend

Description
The water knot is used to join two ends of webbing or flat material together, forming a secure endless loop. It is essentially an overhand knot tied with two tails that follow each other through the knot. The knot must be carefully dressed and tightened with all webbing lying flat.
Common Uses
Used in climbing and rescue for creating slings from flat webbing, repairing broken webbing, and connecting tubular material.
How to Tie
- 1Tie a loose overhand knot in one end of the webbing.
- 2Pass the second webbing end through the first knot, following the path in reverse.
- 3Ensure the second end fully mirrors the path of the first.
- 4Pull all four ends to tighten gradually, working the webbing flat.
- 5Dress the knot so all strands lie flat without twists.
