Interweave Bend
Also known as:Sailor's Bend

Description
The interweave bend joins two ropes by interlocking their internal strands, creating a smooth, low-profile connection. Each rope's end is woven into the construction of the other. This bend is known for being strong and maintaining a high percentage of the rope's original strength.
Common Uses
Used in sailing and traditional ropework for joining rope ends where the connection must pass easily through blocks or fairleads.
How to Tie
- 1Unlay the strands of each rope end for a short distance.
- 2Interlock the two sets of strands alternately.
- 3Weave each strand back into the opposite rope, following the lay.
- 4Taper and tuck the ends into the rope body.
- 5Roll the finished splice underfoot to smooth it.
