Description

The continuous figure eight links multiple figure eight knots in sequence along a single rope, creating a series of fixed loops. Each loop is independently secure. This arrangement allows for multiple attachment points on a single line.

Common Uses

Used in climbing and rescue for creating multiple anchor points or footholds along a single rope, and in decorative ropework.

How to Tie

  1. 1Tie a figure eight knot at the first desired loop location.
  2. 2Leave a gap and form a bight for the next loop.
  3. 3Tie another figure eight using the bight.
  4. 4Repeat the process for each additional loop.
  5. 5Ensure each knot is properly dressed and tightened.
  6. 6Check that each loop is independent and secure.
